Progressive GT-3520 International 19-Piece Measuring Cup and Spoon Set

Pros: Price, number of items, variety of measurements
Cons: I'm not expecting them to be terribly durable

We make bread and cook at home a lot, and were constantly washing our old measuring-cup and -spoon sets -- sometimes repeatedly for a single meal or even a single dish. We added this set, and the sheer number of different sizes has all but eliminated that problem. Now we can use the 1/2 tsp, 1 tsp, and 2 tsp for the soy sauce, peanut butter, and salt, rather than washing/drying the 1/2 tsp twice. Same for all the cups. The color differences are... OK. The white/red/gray is a little helpful for sorting, but it doesn't really help me quickly pick out the size I need. Nor is it a very attractive color scheme. But that's minor. I do like that the handle and cup are a single molded piece -- our old (expensive) metal set was starting to lose its handles.

The major problem I foresee is the plastic used. The hard plastic feels really brittle. Unlike our old metal and plastic sets, the kids don't get to play with this one because we fear the cups or their handles will break. We're also careful when measuring heavy items, or packing food like brown sugar. We do wash the spoons in the lower rack of the dishwasher, but I don't think our old machine ever gets very hot, so YMMV.

The only suggestion I could make is that it could be a lot better (for storage reasons) to get a new design with oval shape.

I really wish I could keep these, I love individual measuring cups but, I bought these again for my granddaughters bridal shower to include in a big box of items I am purchasing for her. When I married, my sister-in-law did this for me and it is the one gift I remember above all I received and that was over 50 years ago. These measuring cups and spoons will be very handy for her, are made of very good material and will last her many years. I would recommend them to anyone who likes to cook and needs measuring instruments.

I just love my 1/8, 1/16 and 1/32 tsp measurements!!! I often divide recipes by 2, 4, or even 8 to make reasonable servings for my husband and I, so that food stays fresh, we don't get bored of anything, and we are more likely to eat reasonable portions. This measuring cup/spoon set would be my biggest secret to being able to divide almost any recipe to the amount that I want. I just LOVE it!!!!!!!!

Although I have glass, stainless steel, and other plastic measuring utensils - I couldn't resist buying this 19-piece set of measuring cups and spoons after reading the positive reviews. By far, this is my favorite set of measuring utensils (both in cups and spoons) mainly because of the variety of common and uncommon sizes offered. Since I use this set often and my cupboards and drawers are spilling over, I have them nicely hung on wall hooks near my hanging pots and pans located near my cooking and baking area. Although it is okay to put them in the dishwasher, I choose to wash them by hand.

Great product, great price, and outstanding delivery time. Give this set a try....you won't be sorry, I bet.
