Black & Decker TRO480BS Toast-R-Oven 4-Slice Toaster Oven

Excellent value for a multi-tasking lower price range basic kitchen utility appliance. I have used the toast, bake and broil functions successfully. The thermostat temperature control functions evenly and consistently. Individual controls for temperature, function and timing allow a full range of adjustments. This is not a one-touch for operation appliance and requires particular settings by the user. Control knobs are full sized and easy to clean. The interior trays are also easily removable for cleaning. The glass door mechanism is constructed solidly and affords a full interior view. The unit cools rapidly after use. My only criticism is that when closing the door the interior rack linkage jams slightly requiring additional effort. This is not a problem for me but children and seniors may have difficulty. Any appliance requires a user learning process to perform to individual expectations and this one "con" is offset by the many "pro" aspects. Otherwise this would be a 5-Star review.
Overall I recommend this appliance for the price range and utility. If you want a toaster, just buy a toaster. If you want an oven, just buy an oven. If you want a good quality toaster oven, buy this appliance.

I'm less than thrilled with the Black & Decker TRO489BS Toaster Oven, but after getting to know it's idiosyncrasies, it serves the purpose. Changing modes, for example from toast to baking, requires multiple setting changes. Bread is evenly toasted, but it takes much longer than my old toaster oven. And, most disappointing is after taking hot food out of the oven the door will not close (I either leave the door open until the unit cools or push the rack back in place with a utensil). The price was good, so this seems to be a case of "you get what you pay for".

The toaster over was just what I needed. It fits right in the space on my counter. It took me a while to learn how to use it properly, but other than that it is great.

We love this toaster oven. It fits nicely on our counter w/o taking up too much space. It's great for nights when we do nuggets or other quick foods. Much better than turning on the oven.

I like this toaster Oven. It is small and fits neatly under the kitchen cabinets on top of the counter. Be carefull. It does get very hot on the outside and you can easily burn yourself. Also the sliding shelf that slides out when door is opened does not do so very well and tends to stick when you try to close the door again. It is annoying to have to turn all the dials when you want toast and to remember to reset the dials when toast is done. but the toast you get is evenly browned and perfect and you can toase several slices at once all done to perfection. It will cook a meal such as a casserole ok but that takes time as the oven needs to be heated to temp before being used.and the timer bell does not work very well.So I use a different timer.
